Electronic Equipment

I did this for this...thing that's happening on Friday at What If the World which I won't be going to cause I have more than 1 job...in fact, I have more than 2 jobs, maybe even 3. Anyway. I did it. Here. Look at it. If I'm feeling nice later, I'll track down what the other illustrators did.

Adam the Velcro Suit

Adam is one of those people...you know.
That one.
The one that makes you feel a little sick when you look at their work.
Not out of disgust, no. Their work is so amazing and perfect that it makes your heart sink a little and convince you that you are certainly not putting out the right amount of effort into your work.

Adam was at college with me, I was a couple of years below him and I truly believed that by the time I was in 3rd year, my work would look as amazing as his. " Wow, what a great school this is!" I thought. But little did I know that Adam's talent came purely from within him and the school had little to do with it. From his treatment of type to illustration, I feel my jealousy doused drool burn out of the side of my mouth. A truly amazing designer and illustrator, which will undoubtedly make you feel shame before inspiration, view Adam's work here.

Oh and did I mention he was also in a band and plays the guitar...sigh.

Some more paintings in progress for the Fly By Night exhibition which is coming up next week.

Fly By Night Work

Just a little sneak preview of what I'm doing for the Fly By Night exhibition.

These are my new necklaces. I've given them girls names.
They're R80 each and are available straight from me.

I've made another poster, this time for the Fly By Night event.
It's spread over 3 days and each night one artist will exhibit and 2 bands will play.

Each night will be an absolute treat to the senses!
Tickets are R50 per night.
I'm exhibiting on the Thursday the 5th of November and you'll be entertained by Guy Buttery and Miss Texas 1977!

New Picture Find

Went shopping at a few thrift shops yesterday and came across this painting...I love these horse paintings. That's all!

New Recipe Books

I hand painted some covers and got them bound into blank recipe books so you can write all your favourite recipes down or pass it around for your friends to share all of theirs with you. The perfect gift for a friend! They're for sale at lim in Kloof St.

The View From Where I Sit

This is what I look at everyday.
I wrote "I want you back for good" on the window...like from the pop song by Take That.

Inerest

So, I've had some people interested in my life and work lately.
The We Are Awesome blog blogged about my daily changing Facebook profile pictures, here.
I also had Kiffposters taking interest in the posters I did for the Frown Family Karavan, here.

Miss Texas 1977

Miss Texas 1977 will be playing at the Waiting Room tonight.
It was also my birthday on Sunday, so I'll be having a party of sorts there, come along to listen to some rad "alt freak folk". R40 gets you in.
Check out Miss Texas 1977 here.

I think this is the best thing in the shop at the moment.
