errrr

hi.
No blogposts huh.
Bad blogger...

Saw this hoop on pinterest and it made me smile.
Having seen that poster being held up by a thousand designers doing their own interpretation, I enjoyed seeing it on a hoop. Because keeping calm and carrying on is what cross stitch is all about.
I've just put out 600 mobile banners. I'm feeling a little fuzzy.

New Cross Stitch Wall Hangings

More.
I made these in the last two days and I made "wish" a week or so ago and then it immediately sold. Only got a pic recently.
That's my last piece of black canvas :(

New Commission

I was commissioned to do the piece.
It's on black hemp which was quite different to work on than the canvas.

Manly Shoes

I found some beatiful shoes on JJJJound.
I just adore those brown suede ones! I'd love some for myself.

Matthew Lyons

Matthew Lyons' illustration is rad.
I love the desaturated tones, textures and geometric style.
Check out his blog here and his Flickr here.

Cape Creative Exhibition

Remember The Fringe?
Well now it's moved to the Cape Creative Exhibition.
Same crew, things, art, awesomeness and cakes.
Let your eyes drool over these images.
You can find the Cape Creative Exhibition on Greenpoint Main Road right next door to Manos.

Justin Badenhorst

Justin Badenhorst is a local photographer, he's good, I love these pics he took of these barbers, they look like morticians, and the portraits of these hot boys, nice.
He once took pics of me in a pool. Back when I was a blonde for a bit.
View more of his work here.

Andy Lund and the Mission Men

This is guaranteed to be a rad couple of shows.
Poster by Adam Hill

Adam Hill

Oh Adam Hill...
I don't even have to write anything.
Just let your eyeballs loose on his stunning design work.

Laura Marling

I'm loving the illustration on the new Laura Marling site, very pretty, like the music.
Every time you click on a new link, the top half circle image changes, it turns round and reminds me of a season changer that I once made in Montessori. Season changer...that's the best description I can think of.

Kalk Bay Awesomeness

I love living in Kalk Bay.

Miss Texas 1977 THURSDAY 17 JUNE

I may be a Miss Texas 1977 groupie but here are the facts.
They will be playing at Speedways next week Thursday (17th June).
There will be guest artists.
The poster is super cool, designed by Michael Merrett.
Facebook event here.
Radcore.

The Neighbour Goods Night Market

I'll be trading next week Tuesday at the Neighbour Goods Market EVENING MARKET!
I'll have all the old favourites plus a few new things!

*excitement*

I've knitted up some gorgeous new Scarflet O'Harras in cotton, bamboo and pure wool. Adding to the collection of neutrals, I now have some "man colours" ie. brown, dirty blue, dark grey.
Hope to see you all there!

TUESDAY 15th JUNE///18:30 - TIL LATE

Side Attraction3

I'm loving these soft furnishings from Side Attraction3. The products are made with natural materials such as linen, muslin, cotton, hemp, silk and leather.

The company also works with community projects in the Western Cape.
"side attraction 3 supports african handicraft, and works closely with the women of the african childrens feeding scheme, to create upliftment, using art and culture to promote the value of a lifestyle that is lived with social awareness."

Have a look at more products and more info on their website here.

A Plate

I did this plate in conjunction with The Imaginarium. This is also a pic I took for a hand reference...looks just like my hands in the painting!

Brand New Dinosaurs At The South African Museum

My sister in law helped work on these new model dinosaurs.
They're dinosaurs that lived in Southern Africa which was really cool to imagine.
I liked the idea of them walking and breathing on the same land that I walk and breathe on.

Also, the museum is cool.

Marietjie Knows How To Throw A PARTY!

Sunday marked the day of Marietjie's birthday.
It was such a lovely day! It started with a walk up Silvermine and ended with a fantastic brunch at her fantabulous house.

Thanks for having us Marietjie!
My mommy would be proud to see that party throwing hasn't gone out of fashion.
